Heart labyrinth outside Casa del Sol

Includes:

  • An intimate, residential workshop setting with  L.R. Heartsong (“River”)—healer/author/medicine man/earth mystic—including individual and group process, as well as solo time in nature
  • Optional morning meditation and Qigong with River
  • The Heart Labyrinth, just outside Casa del Sol
  • Casa del Sol: set aside for “spiritual” and contemplative retreats at Ghost Ranch, allowing for a more personalized and intimate workshop experience, it sits next to Georgia O’Keeffe’s former residence (not open to the public)
  • Lodging for three nights, eight meals, tuition, conservation fee
  • *We are working on arranging a private tour of Ghost Ranch on Thursday afternoon, which includes a visit to sites where O’Keeffe painted many of her famous works

Please note: travel to New Mexico and Ghost Ranch is not included (airfare, rental car, etc.). If you are interested in a carpool or shuttle from Santa Fe (or can offer a ride to other participants coming from ABQ/Santa Fe), please contact us so we can help make arrangements.

Added bonus:  the internationally famous Santa Fe Indian Market takes place Saturday and Sunday, 18-19 August, following this workshop. It is the largest Native arts market and exhibition in the world—jewelry, textiles (weaving, baskets, etc.), pottery, sculpture, and more—occupying all of Santa Fe’s central plaza and streets surrounding. Consider extending your trip to take in the Market, but be sure to book as soon as possible because town completely fills up and lodging and rental cars sell out!

Accommodation at Ghost Ranch is rustic in keeping with its history and the natural environment. Casa del Sol is an old, adobe structure with simple furnishings, and bedrooms/ bathrooms set around a central courtyard. Three small studios (called “hermitages”) are slightly apart from the main house. We will be located about two miles down a dirt road and behind a gate, away from the main compound area of Ghost Ranch with its meeting rooms, dorms, and dining hall, pleasantly removed from the bustle and activity.

Refund policy: registration is refundable (less $25 administration fee) up to 30 days prior to the workshop; after that, registration is non-refundable unless your space can be filled by another participant (you may also transfer your balance to another Soul Quests workshop within a year).

About the facilitator:

L.R. Heartsong

A practitioner of the healing arts for more than two decades, L.R. Heartsong is trained in somatic psychology and Hakomi Integrative Somatics (now called Sensorimotor Psychotherapy); as a body-centered therapist, he has worked extensively in individual and group settings, leading men’s groups, workshops and wilderness rites-of-passage work.

Deeply attuned to soulful nourishment, relationship with place, and sensate perception, River holds that nature and a conscious connection with the body (and its biofield) are essential to our re-wilding, healing, and transformation. He guides others to open their senses and heart to embrace the deep mysteries of earth, spirit, and soul—celebrating the body as ecstatic resource and exploring what it means to be fully human.

Highly intuitive and empathic, River has long been something of a reluctant mystic; experiencing direct revelations from Source, he is in-tune with the living, dreaming Earth and its communication. Clairvoyant, clairaudient and clairsentient, he underwent an extreme healing crisis that led to a rigorous initiation and an in-depth apprenticeship with sacred plant medicines. He has now stepped fully into his visionary work as a ‘medicine man’ and spiritual guide, leading shamanic ceremonies for healing wherein he works specifically with music and sound.

He is the author of The Bones and Breath: A Man’s Guide to Eros, the Sacred Masculine, and the Wild Soul (White Cloud Press, 2014), and the pen behind TendingSacred, his monthly blog “exploring a healer’s path,” and formerly, the Soul Artist Journal.
